Congratulations to UNC COMM student Catherine McCaffery who has been awarded the Dr. William V. Balthrop Internship at RLF Communications, an alum-owned company.
This internship, named after COMM professor emeritus, Bill Balthrop, gives interns the opportunity to gain real-world public relations experience in an agency setting as they are exposed to multiple facets of the firm and work closely with mid and senior-level account executives.
Interns work on a variety of assignments such as developing media lists, drafting and sending news releases, crafting media pitches, evaluating media coverage, writing social media posts, conducting research and assisting with special events.
