Research Interests:

Khari is passionate about the intersection of communication and food. She is interested specifically in gastronomic societies, that is how conviviality and commensality create identity and build community. She aims to better understand how the literal breaking of bread authenticates interpersonal relationships and networks through both boundary marking and crossing. Khari seeks to understand the role of food in gastrodiplomacy and racial reconciliation.
