Biography

Julie researches at the intersection of surveillance and refugee studies, with focus on health systems, public policy, and narratives of threat. Her M.A. thesis conducted a critical autoethnography exploring sexual assault narratives, access to care, and the navigation of trauma in the medical system. Other work has explored refugee narratives in theater performance and law as well as, the intersection of public narratives and policy. Her current work explores border surveillance, biocitizenship, and public narratives of migration and threat.
