Research Interests:

Courtlyn researches the relationship between media and history. Specifically, she is interested in the ways that depictions of American historical events and figures in popular media offer particular ways of thinking about the historical past. More broadly, she is interested in the power popular media has to shape people’s understanding of the world around them.
