Internship Description
Our State Magazine Editorial Internships
Since 1933, Our State magazine has been the premier statewide magazine. From the mountains to the coast, Our State features North Carolina travel, food, history, people, and places. Our readers are passionate about North Carolina and treasure us as a connection to the place they call home or the place they long to be. Our State has been nationally recognized as the winner of FOLIO: awards in 2011 and 2012 for “Best Full Issue: Regional Magazine.”

Editorial internship positions are for 10 hours a week, unpaid, and offer opportunity for experience in several areas: research, proofreading, writing, and editing. Interns also help with fact-checking, indexing, assembling copy for our website, and other general duties. Our State interns work closely with the editorial team and have the opportunity to produce portfolio-worthy clips. We prefer students who are pursuing a degree in journalism or English, but all majors are welcome to apply. Experience working on a student or local publication is a huge plus.

This position will be virtual. College credit is available upon request.
