Research Interests
Preston’s current research combines cultural studies, critical theory, and organization studies/organizational communication to better understand the relationships between affect, organizations, and post-modernity. He is particularly interested in the role of affect in both mobilization and institutionalization of social movements of various kinds. He is beginning to work on his dissertation by thinking through ironic cynicism and the question of a kind of crisis of value and judgement.
