Research Interests

Preston’s current research combines cultural studies, critical theory, and organizational communication to better understand the contemporary relationships between work, power, and resistance. He is particularly interested in how discourse mediates the relationship between power and subjectivity. Relatedly, he investigates how power produces subjects as a means to (re)produce itself and the modalities through which subjects resist via their relative autonomy.
