Daniel B. Coleman Chávez is a PhD Candidate in performance studies. His dissertation, “Intimacies of Un-becoming: Oral Histories Performances and Mujeres Afrodescendientes in San Cristóbal de las Casas, Chiapas, México” is a critical/ performance ethnography and oral history-based project that centers diasporic black women’s voices in the context of Chiapas. Daniel is also a performance artist working through and with the intersections of trans*, processes of racialization and decoloniality.
