First Friday workshop: Argumentation and Debate

This Friday, Oct. 1st, from 2-3:30 p.m. in room 3206 A|B of the Carolina Union, PPD hosts a faculty-focused workshop on teaching argumentation and debate, facilitated by Kevin Marinelli and Chris Lundberg from the Department of Communication.

Borrowing from the work of John Dewey and Stephen J. Toulmin, this workshop provides resources and suggests strategies and concrete activities for integrating argument-based instruction into teaching practices, offering ways to approach discussion, deliberation, and debate in the classroom with the goal of fostering a productive culture of argument at UNC.
