Graduate Nomination

  • This award is named in honor of the Sherrill family and Professor James Pence, former faculty member in Rhetorical Studies. The award was established by the Sherrill family to honor Dr. Pence for providing exceptional instruction to their son in developing his communication effectiveness. This award is designed to recognize the graduate student who has made the most outstanding contribution in the area of applied/engaged communication. Outstanding contributions may be defined as internship projects, research, appropriate presentations, and/or outstanding performances with tangible contribution to the understanding and practice of communication. (Nominations accepted from faculty; determined by Graduate Studies Committee.)
