Biography
Raised in Moscow, Russia, Irina is an interdisciplinary artist scholar with a special interest in poetry as intermedia. She received her M.A. degree in the Swedish Language and Western World Literature from Moscow State University and a second M.A. in Performance Studies from Louisiana State University. She holds her Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from the University of Georgia. Within her research in the construction of language and the poetry of space, her spectacles, installations, and choreographies explore the metaphorical aspect of human experience. She serves on the International Committee of Hong Kierkegaard Library, where she was awarded a research residency in 2012-2013.
