Biography
I’m committed to helping students become more confident writers, speakers, and advocates for their communities by providing practical assignments with real-world applications. While I’ve been teaching university students for the last decade, I also have worked for several nonprofit organizations. Currently, I volunteer as a program consultant for a nonprofit in Afghanistan that supports educational and leadership opportunities for Afghan youth (currently in a remote capacity, though I have worked with them in Kabul). My research focuses on ways that activist groups persuade communities to rethink their commemorative landscape. I have two little boys and one very large cat – Elizabeth “Kitty” Stanton.
