The Department of Communication will hold a department commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 13th from 6:00-8:00PM in the Dean Smith Center. Please review the frequently asked questions below. When is the department commencement?
The Department of Communication’s commencement exercise will be held Saturday, May 13th from 6:00-8:00PM in the Dean Smith Center. Here is a list of other department commencement ceremonies.
Who can walk during the department commencement?
If you are graduating during spring 2023, summer 2023 or graduated in Fall of 2022, you may walk. Graduates may decide to walk any time up until the processional begins.
How many guests can I bring?
There is no limit on the number of guests.
Will there be a live-stream?
No, unfortunately there will not be a streaming option for those who cannot attend in person.
Who is the department commencement speaker?
’04 COMM Alum and filmmaker, Mr. Sam Hargrave will give the commencement address. You can read more about Sam here.
Will there be a university graduation?
Yes, the university graduation will be held Sunday, May 14th at 9am in Kenan Memorial Auditorium. More information can be found here.
