The SOHP’s internship program provides experiential education in the intellectual, organizational, and practical work of oral history. Interns will engage with the practice of oral history; assist with ongoing SOHP projects; collection management, digital exhibits, and public engagement.
The SOHP is currently accepting applications for fall 2021 internships. The deadline to apply is Friday, March 12, 2021, by 5PM EST. Application questions can be submitted to Sara Wood: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Interns enroll in History 593: Exploring the US South Hands On and Ears Open: Internship at the Southern Oral History. Students earn three hours of internship credit through the requirements of their home departments.
The Plambeck and Vogel awards provide funding for students who are either interested in working with SOHP or have a research project they’d like to pursue. The link with information on the funding and how to apply is here. The deadline for both awards is Monday, March 15.
Any interested applicants can direct all questions to Sara Wood, the Project Manager for the Southern Oral History Program.
