Alice Marwick, a professor of Media & Technology Studies in the Department of Communication, was recently a guest star on the podcast Public Books 101. With host Annie Galvin, Public Books 101 is a new public-scholarship podcast from the online magazine Public Books. The episode with Professor Marwick focuses on data brokering, disinformation on the internet, and how online privacy violations affect individuals differently based on gender, race, and socioeconomic status.
