Alexis’s current research reflects her interest in contemporary forms and sites of work. Her work draws on social theory and organization and labor studies to investigate the ubiquitous nature of technologically mediated work that extends across myriad places, spaces, and times. From a communicative perspective, Alexis examines negotiations of public/productive and private/reproductive labor with implications for work/life relations. Dynamics of power, identity, gender, race, and class come to the forefront of Alexis’s research.
