Maggie’s research interests include rhetoric and public culture, political theory, and feminist theory. Her dissertation investigates the rhetorical history of citizenship jurisprudence in the United States. Specifically, she studies how judicial decisions are made and what these decisions can tell us about the underlying fantasies, logics, and affects at play in the contemporary social imaginary. Her work on the controversy over birthright citizenship has been published in Social Identities and in an anthology on digital media.
