Department chair, Dr. Patricia Parker, will be the moderator for the Triangle Women in STEM panel and luncheon, to be held on Thursday, March 2nd from 10:45 a.m. to noon at the UNC Clean Tech Summit.
The Triangle Women in STEM is a network of women from the North Carolina Triangle area. Their goal is to enhance the ecosystem for women in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics fields in the Triangle. The luncheon will host high school girls from diverse backgrounds. These young women and others will have an opportunity to ask questions and network with the panel and other women in STEM career fields. The selected panelists for the session are:
- Jenna Carpenter: Dean, School of Engineering, Campbell University
- Annette Green: Vice President, Sales, SAS Institute
- Rashida Hodge: Director, Worldwide Client Delivery, IBM
- Teena Piccione: SVP Enterprise Technology Innovative Executive, Fidelity Investments
Each of these women will share her journey on her chosen STEM career path. Dr. Parker is a founding member of Triangle WiSTEM initiative and is co-chair of the Marketing and Branding Working Group.
UNC Clean Tech Summit will hold its 4th Annual Summit, which “will bring together professionals in business, policy, and academia from across the state and region for two days of discussion, workshops, mentoring and networking to foster leadership and growth in the southeast’s clean tech industry.” The workshops will begin on Wednesday, March 1st and will continue through March, 3rd.
